YOU DON’T WANT TO GET LEFT BEHIND, DO YOU?
AI Collapse is inevitable. Funding collapse, model collapse, data center construction collapse, it’s all so clearly visible on the horizon that there’s no need for details. The question is not if the post AI future will come, the question is if you’ll be prepared for it.
Once the bubble pops, ripping away the free-token driven economic reality, only military and surveillance AI will remain and if you are not one of the lucky ones with a cushy job in abstracting violence then you will be left behind in a big way.
It is, of course, compelling to refuse the inevitable, to stay in your safe space and ignore what is happening outside, but while you are clinging to an antiquated version of the future, others are out there, burning the midnight oil, getting reaquainted with actual reality, relearning the basics.
Talking to people, thinking through problems, sitting with emotions (all the skills you are currently outsourcing to AI) will become the driving force of the economy.
Many people are already getting familiar with those things and they are outpacing you. You can choose to ignore these obvious developments, but you, and your family, will pay the price in a few years.
As soon as all the public facing LLMs go bankrupt, as soon as people are left without their emotional support robots, the demand for certain skills will skyrocket and you, being very smart and forward thinking, can profit off of that massively but only if you step out of your denialism and face the music. Right now.
That’s hard to do, and that’s why Psychology is the first market niche that will allow you to accumulate generational wealth. Just think of all the middle managers, well paid and basically clueless, that will need to face their runious lack of spine. Forget model collapse, we’re talking personality collapse here. This market segment has second homes to sell and will come crawling into your office, begging for psychological reconstruction. Most therapists are not prepared for the specificty of their shortcomings and so you, if you start right now, can establish yourself as a specialist in the inevitably burgeoning field of post bubble personality disorder (PBPD).
If self-employment is not for you, then, oh boy, you should defenitely get re-aquainted with the workflows and structures inside of your company. Then, when everyone around you is suddenly frozen with fear because their decision-outsourcing-machine stopped working, you can step up in a big way, securing a stable position and good standing for years to come. Being the only non-paralised person in your office, you should be able to secure at least a couple of raises from your bosses in their time of need.
But the big bucks, the truly transformative amount of money to be made, is in focusing on the richest of the rich. They, hollowed out by decades of yes-men and services that shield them from reality, are the most suceptible to the effects of AI and, having invested so much of their public persona into an outdated version of the future, will fall the hardest. This type of trauma will need specialised, intensive care and, if you have the money, setting up your rehabilitation centers right now will leave you in a prime position to profit from their suffering. All you need to do is to hire a bunch of pottery teachers, painters and philosophers and let them roam freely in a secluded and beautiful compound. They will set up a very low-stress and highly reflective environment all on their own and you, having seen the inevitable future a little bit sooner than most, will not need to lift a finger while the money just keeps rolling in.
There are, of course, boundless other ways to profit from the, again, inevitable popping of the bubble. It might be painful, but once you realise that the future (outside of all the abstracted violence, which should be safe from the death AI for a couple of years at least) is human, you can start to prepare yourself for the inevitable. Trust me, all the smart people are doing it already.
